On June 25th 2009 Laurie Chan and Karen Fediuk traveled to Sliammon First Nation on the Sunshine coast. There they met with a subcommittee to discuss the project; the subcommittee was composed of representatives from the Sliammon First Nation band council, treaty office, and health council. The leadership was in support of participating in the FNFNES, a dialogue ensued to discuss questions, concerns and details of the project. A community information session was held later that afternoon; Laurie and Karen presented the FNFNES to the community members present, answered all questions, and responded to community feedback.
