On June 29 2009 Don Sharpe, Judy Mitchell and Jasmine Thomas traveled to Lower Nicola First Nation. The meeting was held in the band hall, about 50 members of the community attended including several members of the band council, Community and Capital works clerk, and members of the health clinic. Jasmine Thomas began the presentation by performing a traditional welcome song from her First Nation band, Saik’uz First Nation. Don, Judy and Jasmine presented the FNFNES to those gathered, listened to many interesting comments and answered questions, and concerns. A quorum was taken at the close of the meeting to ascertain if the community of Lower Nicola wished to participate in the FNFNES, and the response was unanimous yes.
